Bruce Howden is pleased to offer the Howden XXX® pumpkin seed that he developed on the Howden Farm® in Sheffield, MA. It is an offspring of the original Howden Pumpkin circa 1970. The XXX has the usual Howden characteristics of deep ridging, deep orange color, sturdy stems (even better than the original) and thick flesh, which enhances its shelf life.

  • Full vine
  • Stem attachment with bird foot rooting
  • 20 to 30 pound fruit, the size is dependent on
    the weather 115 day maturity

Growing information: germination from 7 to 10 days, weather dependent. It can be direct seeded—soil temperature at 72°, or started inside. However, do not put out until after the last frost.

The people at DP Seeds and New England Seed Co. claim “It is probably the best Halloween pumpkin grown.”
